Policies & Procedures
Registration: A non-refundable fee of $25 per student is required yearly at time of registration.Classroom & Waiting Area Rules: Appropriate dancewear is required for all classes (please see reverse for attire requirements). Street shoes or jeans will not be permitted in any class. Students not wearing proper attire will not be permitted to participate. Hair must be pulled up securely. Chewing gum is not allowed on the premises. The waiting area must remain quiet during lessons. Please respect the students, our staff and each other by keeping noise levels to a minimum.
Parents Week: Two sessions each year are designated as Parent's Viewing Week. This is the time when you are able to watch and see your child's progress. It is essential to your child's learning process that all other class time is dedicated to learning with their instructor and fellow classmates. Please see the Dance Unlimited LLC Calendar for Parent's Viewing Week and other important studio dates.
Care & Transportation of Students: If a dancer will be using school system buses to get to Dance Unlimited LLC, we MUST be notified in writing and approve at least 1 week PRIOR to the date. Students should NOT arrive any earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled class time. The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 are to remain on the premises during classes. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after class.
Parent's Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed. The school will post all such notices on the bulletin board as well as sending notices home with the students. It is the parent's responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the school of any address, telephone number or email change.
Tuition & Fees: For tuition payment options, please see the Payment Arrangements (reverse). If any tuition payment is overdue by 2 months, your child will not be allowed to participate in class until payment arrangements have been made. The month of September is non-refundable. Classes will not be pro-rated. Credit card or bank debit payments are not accepted for in-person payment on a monthly basis. Monthly payments must be made by pre-authorized automatic payment. All charges will appear on your bank statement or credit card statement as being from Dance Unlimited LLC. There is a returned check fee of $ 25.00. In the event of a NSF check, Dance Unlimited LLC will electronically debit my account for the check amount plus the $25.00 processing fee.
Snow Days: Each class is allowed one (1) snow day. Each additional snow day will have a make - up class as soon as scheduling permits. Snow days will be called by 2:00pm on the particular day and will be announced on the answering machine as well as B98.5 and 92.3 Moose and WCSH Channel 6. Emails will be sent to all students attending classes on that particular storm/closure day.
Placement: The school reserves the right to move a student into a separate ability/age level if so necessary. The first 2 weeks of lessons will be used as a verification of each student's proper placement. In the event that the staff feels that any dancer should be moved to a more appropriate age or ability level, we will contact you to discuss the class change.
Dance Class Attendance and Lateness: The school reserves the right to have students who come late to class, sit out the class. Repeated lateness may result in termination of lessons. A minimum attendance level will be required. If a student misses more than 4 classes without written notices, the school reserves the right to terminate lessons. Students missing more than 4 classes after January will not be allowed to participate in the year-end dance recital, festivals or competitions.
Withdrawal & Refunds: There is a two-month minimum for all lessons. One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be done at the school office and not with the teacher. Withdrawal must occur within the first 10 days of the month. No withdrawals will be accepted after March 1. To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must:
- Inform school administration in person, and
- Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school office.
- All automatic bank debiting will stop after the one-month notice period. Dance Unlimited LLC reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice. In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.
Costumes & Recital: Each year the students present their work at the end of year recital. Each class will have their own routine and costume. All costume deposits and or payments are non-refundable after December 1. Costume payments are due in full by December 1. Costumes are seventy –five dollars ($75.00) per student/per class. Costumes payment options are as follows:
- Three (3) pre-authorized equal installments of twenty-five ($25.00) [per student/ per class] from your bank account (October 15, November 15 and December 15)
- Due in full by cash or credit card by December 1.
Photo Release: The school is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the school creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name.
